Career Awareness Programme

Career Awareness Programme (CAP) at Thyagaraju Central School, Bidadi

The recent years have seen an emergence of a multitude of career options across the globe. From well-established careers like Medicine and Engineering to new-age career options like Social Media Evangelist and Data Scientist, students today are spoiled for choice when it comes to making their career decision. It is only natural that they face hundreds of questions before arriving upon one of the most crucial decisions of their adult life.
Cognizant of the need for structured career planning, schools, colleges and educational institutions are now actively taking steps to promote career guidance and proper selection.
Thyagaraju Central School (TCS), Bidadi is one such school which encourages its students to pursue the right career.  TCS wants to prepare its students for the real world by finding their interests and their strengths, developing the necessary skills and providing effective real-world exposure to ensure that they succeed.
TCS has joined hands with Educafé, the first Company to develop and standardize an online Career Assessment & Mapping tool, suitable for Indian children to nurture their students’ career.
As a stepping stone towards the TCS students’ career success Educafé conducted “Career Awareness Programme” for TCS 9th and 10th Grade students on 13th November 2019 at TCS premises.
Educafé thanks Mr. Sandeep Sadananda, CEO, Thyagaraju Central School for his support.

Why we need career assessments?

Why we need career assessments? Ayush’s parents were Chemical engineers and Ayush was good at Chemistry in school. He was scoring well, every year. When he finished his 10 th exams, he took up Math, Physics and Chemistry as his subjects and after the 12 th  exams, his joined Chemical Engineering. But soon he realized that this was not what he wanted to do. He realized that he was really interested in studying about Animals (Zoology) and Plants (Botany).  What if he had realized this during his school life? What if Ayush’s parents had consulted a professional career counsellor? They would have understood that scoring marks was not the only criterion in selecting a course; that interest or passion for a career should also be considered, along with ability. He could have become a Zoologist, Wildlife Biologist, Environmental Scientist, Veterinarian, Biotechnologist or Botanist.  Ayush’s parents realized that they should not have imposed their ideas on their child, to study courses
